Myth : The more you wash your face, the less acne you will get.

Keeping your skin clean is important, but washing it too many times can make your skin dry. You should wash your face with a cleanser suited for oily and acne skin to get rid of dust, dirt and grime . However overwashing face will lead to dryness and skin irritation.

Myth : Popping pimples can make them heal faster

Popping a pimple can irritate it, causing it to become more inflamed and possibly leave a scar. You can also risk spreading the bacteria deeper into the surrounding skin cells, prolonging your healing process.

Myth : Acne will disappear when you are an adult

Although acne is more common in younger people, it can continue or sometimes even appear in adults when they are 30, 40 or 50. This is adult acne and is generally associated with stress, hormones, diet and medications.

Myth : Sunscreen clogs your pores.

Myth : Can putting toothpaste on a pimple make it go away

The simple answer is no; toothpaste is not a viable treatment for your acne. There are certain ingredients in many brands of toothpaste contain baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol and menthol, which can help dry out inflamed pimples. However using this as a treatment can often lead to further skin irritation and rashes.
