Skin Care for Festive Season
During Festival Season, you are excited to get outside, be in the middle of it all, have fun with your friends, and dress up in cute event gear. When it comes to your skin, caring for it properly is something that’s of the utmost importance – especially when spending extended amounts of time outdoors. People might not care about their looks when they stay at home. But, as soon as they are knocked with a special occasion, there lies variety of option through which you can look beautiful. When you are going for a wedding party, you cannot just dress up and keep your face as it is as you stay at home. When the festive season arrives, everyone is on their toes to look good and attractive. You may find a variety of make up that is suitable for every occasion.
Moisturise with Sunscreen
If you’re going to be spending ample amounts of time in the sun and elements outdoors, you may want to consider investing in a good quality moisturiser that incorporates sunscreen into the product. This way, you get the moisture for your face, a protective barrier between the elements and your skin, and the protection of sunscreen to ward off those harmful rays. Be sure to apply it to your entire face, ears, and neck for soft, supple skin that is protected and happy.
Go Easy on the Makeup
When you’re outdoors during the warm months, and you’re prone to sweating, your best bet is to forgo makeup or at the most, apply them very lightly. You will probably want to go with a tinted moisturiser rather than a full blown foundation for colour, as it won’t look unnatural when the product rubs off or you swear it off. Rather than choose a lip colour that can melt away, apply a tinted lip glaze or tinted lip balm for moisturising that won’t be as noticeable when it disappears. As for eye shadow, skip this one – sweating will cause the shadow to crease up and look unsightly and cracked.
Tone and Refresh
Bringing a small spray bottle filled with your favourite toner can help you refresh your face and neck, and remove sweat and debris that are in the air and thus settling on your skin. Don’t forget some cotton pads to apply the toner or wipe your face down with when packing it into your purse. Remember though: if you plan on wiping your face down, remember to reapply your moisturiser with sunscreen, or opt for a sunscreen stick to protect your skin from the harmful rays.
Less is more
Keep skincare and make up to the minimum. Choose multi-tasking products that can do many jobs - this will keep your packing to a minimum. Clever!
Double Cleanse
After the festivities of the day are over and done with, you are going to want a shower and before doing so, you need to cleanse your face – twice. By cleansing the first time, you are removing impurities, toxins and pollutants from the surface of your skin, while the second cleansing provides you with a cleaner face, pores and washes away dead skin. Massaging your face gently during the second cleansing will stimulate the skin cells to regenerate and grow when you sleep, giving you a healthier appearance.
Lip Care
Dehydration and heat exposure can cause irritation to your lips. Keep an intensive lip balm to hand and apply regularly.
Keep germ free
Festivals are great fun but let's be honest here, they really aren’t always the cleanest of environments. Pack a good anti-bacterial hand sanitiser.
Fruit
While skin care and makeup is important, real beauty must be honed both inside and out. Whether spending the day in a mosh pit or camping out hillside, you should always take care of your immune system. Pack some good old fashioned fruits that contain vitamins such as vitamin C and dry fruits containing vitamin E to give your internal body some tender loving care too.
Hydration - In and Out
Micellar water is an ideal festival product as it doesn’t need rinsing with water. This one-step cleanser will remove all traces of dirt & make-up in a few simple sweeps with a cotton ball.
Along with external maintenance of skin, it is also equally important to maintain yourself from inside. Water is an important factor which maintains balance in your body and provides a wonderful glow in your skin. You need to consume at least 8 – 10 glasses of water in a day in order to look beautiful and get skin glow naturally.
Watch the weight
Weight gain can be another problem that can come as a hindrance in your path. You must consume a balanced diet which is filled with all types of vegetables as well as fruits. Your weight can increase with inappropriate bowel movement and inadequate fibre content in your diet.
If you do not have enough time to carry on with 30 minutes of regular exercise, do a little bit of stretching exercises whenever possible.
